Painting is space

To the 15th anniversary of the Artistic and Literary association “Cyrillic”.

My whole life from a distant childhood to the present day, when the threshold of my sixtieth anniversary has long passed, is connected with artists. Paints, canvases, exhibitions, hopes, disappointments, rare luck, hard work and will end all this with only the last blow of the heart. This is what an artist in my understanding is. It is a man of his own impartiality.

At the end of the 80s of the last century, I voluntarily resigned myself to work in the art and production workshop, where I had already the highest qualification of the artist-a professional and decent salary. Tired of drawing political posters-all this fun lies. Enlarged to 5-10-15 sq. m. Meters, I still can not understand why “trade unions-School of Communism” and “people and the party are united”-not clear where the head, and where the tail.

Outside it seemed that all at once collapsed in the country! There was a huge number of art galleries, street vernonages and just markets, artists literally drowned in a stream of Frank Haloand and Serosti. Of course, there were interesting, unexpectedly good works, made creatively with great taste, but such artists quickly took to the hands of merchants and galleries and forced to work for themselves. Many of my familiar good artists from such a Life ” Were thrown ashore, “like dolphins from the sea and died: they went to the market!

I then threw a brush and paint sat behind the wheel of his Jeep began to deliver the city ice cream and other products. He made good money and “calmed down”.

When a big bosses torga learned that I am a professional artist-I was summoned to the office and presented two large boxes of artistic paints, rolls of primed canvas. They offered to gather an exhibition of artists of Moscow region for display in America,-in G. Houston. From this moment the birth of “Cyrillic” began. I refused to advertise in the newspaper, from the cabinet and the phone, and just started to go to friends-artists, gathered in workshops, flats, on the plein-painted together. We went to Vologda, the great. Ustyug and wrote Etudes. At that time we organized exhibitions in Houston. The Central House of the artist, in Pokrovskiy Convent… In the House of Nadshchinkin in Moscow, etc. Gradually organized a group of artists, soldered strong friendship and creative unity. Of course, it was possible to survive in the atmosphere of the early 90s only together, a strong friendly group. I understood when I was called “Papa Carlo” artists, and I tried my best to help my friends. Found buyers for our association, the people who helped us. We shared subframes, paints. Often climbed all the “Cyrillic” in my soda, throwing a sack of potatoes, bread, gas portable tile and left where eyes look. After a few days they returned to their homes and brought new works.

We laughed a lot at our difficulties in everyday life, we did not notice how summer, autumn and winter were flying. They wrote pictures at any time of the year. Vitaly Tarasov-a wonderful, joyful, eternally surprised artist composed “a book of nonsense” about our lives, read his poems. I told about my travels, about my father, about sea campaigns, and my friends and wife literally forced me to write a book of stories and Stories: So our artists became also writers. Vitaly Tarasov even “took a trip” on a sea cruise to Israel and brought a twig from the Jordan River. Our gloomy and cautious Vyacheslav Artemov went to Switzerland, where he performed well with his works, and the Pais offered to organize an exhibition in Italy. It was a great success and entered the top five of the best exhibitions in Europe. At the exhibition in the Central House of the artist, I and L. Artyomovna acted on television, went articles in newspapers and art journals.

Once in the early spring, I went to Pereslavl-Zaleski on Pleshcheevo Lake and wrote a picture, gave this work to the Chairman of the International Committee “the World of Oceans”, in honor of the 300 anniversary of the Russian Navy Major-General of justice in retired Barabola Peter To Demidovich.

Quite unexpectedly I was admitted as a member of this committee, for the Organization of an exhibition of Moscow artists on the ocean liner, going to a distant sea trip from the UN organization-in honor of the 300 anniversary of the Russian Navy.

In each foreign port, at various meetings and conferences. I was arranging exhibitions of artists, proud of my friends, our “Kirillica”. When it became sad and hard-I came to the music salon of the ship and long considered our work. Paintings are not just painted rags on podramniki: paintings are forms of independent human dignity, the artist does not impose his creativity on anyone. The artist doomed on loneliness and lives life as he understands it. You can repeat someone’s melody dozens of times, but it will never be your song, if you do not put in it your energy, your shades, your soul and your unique drawing.

Have you ever noticed how children draw!? They never ask what to draw-draw and everything. They draw, and when you ask: “What is it?”-the child sincerely indignant, well, how do you not understand? -“It is the sea, and this is the sun, and this is a house on the shore where I live!” and indeed it is.

Artists “Cyrillic” Road to me that they love everything: sea, water, forest, people, flowers and life. We never set a goal, what to draw-we just see, and so we tell.

It so happened that the last few years we did not work together and very seldom met, but I have never forgotten our beginning, our sparkling emotional splash and delight of creativity.

About two years ago, I quite accidentally got acquainted with a very interesting person who became my friend: Sergey Petrovich Rozhnov-The scientist Metallurgman, the head of scientific and technical Organization, was a thin connoisseur and connoisseur of painting. -High intelligence, natural inquisitive mind, great experience of the manager and entrepreneur conquered me and I agreed, after a long and stubborn resistance-to revive again our “Cyrillic”.

Sergey Petrovich organized our organization in a legally executed creative artistic and Literary association, we have now our own staff, seal and place of stay. A clear quarterly work plan was organized and prospects for further creative activity were developed.

And again, as a few years ago, I began to visit my friends and organize a new jubilee exhibition of artists “Cyrillic”, it is amazing that no one of the artists betrayed his business, did not put his hands, he grew up in his mastery. Eugene Dyomin-artist-Ceramist teaches at the Institute, very actively working, Natalia Savenko-writes beautiful works of gouache, tempera, painting, batik and tapestries. Young artists grew up, gifted children grew up, and I want to believe that “Cyrillic” will soon come out to its big Jubilee exhibition, you’ll never forget our, gone from life, dear colleagues and try and their work to present on our Vernissage.

Nikolay Lukashin, who became a very interesting artist, surprised and pleased me. Deep philosophical sounding of his works, exquisite craftsmanship and tenderness in his every work. Anatoly Petushkov-professor, poet, painter-kind, sweet man-finds time to paint paintings, participate in exhibitions.

I love and I am proud of my friends!

The light at the end of the tunnel is still visible, Russia has not been challenged by talents and artists, well said one of our artists-Eugene No “art in modern society is an asset, but few people understand that our state has no other future, Except for the art of being delineated?
